We Loved It!!

Took my 16 year old son to see this yesterday in a packed cinema (we got the last 2 seats) and after reading reviews we weren't expecting much (we love Simon Pegg though so we knew it would be ok!) we were pleasantly surprised by how brilliant it was! We laughed out loud most of the way through it and at a few points were in fits of laughter. Can't understand the bad reviews, so glad we ignored them and saw for ourselves! A real feel-good movie.

Totally agree with you vicks. I've just seen this and as it's coming towards the end of it's run here there were only about 50 or so people in the place (still pretty good for a Bank Holiday Tuesday) and a heck of a lot of them, including me, were laughing out loud for a good part of it.I have to say, though, that I didn't think the aliens bit was very well done- like trying to find something for the Pythons to do without it being Monty Python, and it didn't really work for me; neither did Robin Williams as the dog, although to be honest I'm not his greatest fan. Still, I thought it was mostly hilarious and one of the best comedies I've seen for ages-one of the best because it was actually FUNNY, mind you, I saw Hot Pursuit twice and thought that was hilarious as well. I suppose it all depends on whether you still have your sense of fun intact-well I do!.

Anyone know if this film will be coming to the US? I really want to see it!

That is the problem right there, the public hates feel good movies lately.

Just opened here in Australia in only a few theatres -- here in Melbourne, saw it in a half full cinema, plenty of laughs and everyone loved it.

Yep, just seen it and liked it too. Not really a laugh out loud movie for me, but good enough to keep me entertained all the way through. And that's what it's all about isn't it. Being entertained.

People should stop acting like 'movie experts' and just start enjoying movies for what they are again.

i just finished seeing it and i thought it was a nice simple comedy as it's got it's laughs. i think it will probably boil down to if you like Simon Pegg in general or not.

it's not a bad movie by any means as i like the general idea around it with the comedy wrapped around it.

A very good feelgood movie. Didn't laugh out loud, but almost never do that so cant blame the movie. Though on some places a bit to ... predictible, looks like the reviewers were a bit to hard on it indeed.

A good giggle. I really like Simon Pegg and Kate Beckinsale is bloody gorgeous!
