questions, questions, questions... [spoiler]

1.) what's the deal with the green tealight in the meadow?

2.) why does mrs jessel pretend to lie in cerebral coma? did she and miss wilson deliberately bait the guys into the house this way?

3.) why does young mrs jessel look like lucie's mom?

4.) when ben looks into the mirror and spots mrs jessel, does it teleport him into the room without doors or how did he get there?

5.) where do the three ballet dancers come from who attack ben? are those the victim girls that have been vampirized by anna and her mom in the past and now being kept in that room? why do they never appear again in the movie after that scene?

6.) does lucie have supernatural powers or how can she have flashbacks on anna and jessel's past just by being in their company?

7.) why does mrs jessel say to anna "don't do this mistake at night" when anna steps into the sunlight?

8.) how was anna able to walk up to lucie after the latter had discovered that anna is not a corpse? (hasn't anna been constructed as some kind of "musical box" by her mother because of dislocated legs?)

9.) is the soul exchange moth ritual a well-known myth?

10.) what's the deal with the surreal shot of the hovering house towards the end?

11.) so in the end lucie (in anna's vampire body) goes to death, while anna keeps on living in lucie's body as a human being?

I found the plot very confusing in spots, as well.

The most I gathered was, these vampires do age. Or at least Jessel did. Anna remained young, but damaged.

Jessel broke Anna's back and then put a windup mechanism in her spine. She kept her daughter alive, but in a horrific state for many years.

I think the vampire girls were some of the girls they killed and turned, and they were probably kept in one of the locked rooms of the house.

Why she did the coma thing, who knows. Maybe it kept her alive longer. She was very aged.

The ending was odd in the fact that, why do it now. She could have used any girl to soul exchange Anna and had her daughter back years ago.

Anna got her revenge in the end and was able to be in a new body. But poor Lucie was condemned to that ruined vampire body, so she took her own life.

It was definitely a strange take on the vampire genre. Almost like one of those shorts that doesn't really connect to anything, but it's just sort of there in the genre.

I did love the house and how creepy it was. I thought the scenes of the vampire girls and Anna were done very well. But somehow, since we were left with such a disjointed script, the movie seemed to miss the mark.

1) Why did Anna have two different colored eyes like Lucy? Why did their eyes turn normal after the body exchange?

2) What's the deal with Mrs. Wilson or whatever her name was? Why was she doing all that stuff for the comatose lady? I know they showed her witness one of the murders when she was young, but it still doesn't really make sense.

3) What were the two matching keys for?

This movie reminds me of 'The Innkeepers'. Amazing vibe, a lot of great leadup and foreshadowing but ultimately nothing comes of it. It's almost like the film maker is cheating. You can just go ahead and put anything in without having to explain it because hopefully the audience will simply forget about it by the time the movie ends.

With all that said, I thought the first 2/3 of this movie were fantastic and I would recommend it overall. As soon as the supernatural vampires thing came out though, the movie went a little downhill.

The main character is hot as *beep*, though! It was almost distracting, especially when they have her on the table at the end and them big ol titties are popping out through her hoodie. Nice.

1/ They didn't turned normal. Eyes should ilustrate the fact, that girls minds changed bodies - that mean that Anna spirit has been moved to Lucy's body and Lucy's spirit is in broken Anna body.

2/ Mrs. wilson witness murders at the young age and decided to remain by Jessels side through the years. She kills the local kids to get blood for transfussions to keep old vampire alive.

3/ I didn't notice the were two keys.

I believe she was waiting to find a girl with 2 different color eyes like her daughter so she couldn't have just done it any ol' time.

2) As a vampire in late 20th or early 21st century, you have to be creative not to get noticed by government/police. Because she was so old, she had to have some explanation to be still alive at that age - being in a coma is the easiest way - and to get blood transfusions.

3) They are just similar I guess. But they didn't look that similar, I think. French filmmakers seem to like dark haired women... *shrugs*

4) Apparently, it did. Why he didn't try to get out of there the same way, I don't know. He should have known it had something to do with the mirror. But maybe he's not into horror/fantasy/scifi movies and doesn't know these things.

5) Probably. Who knows what kind of parties go on in that house when no one's around...

6) Mme Jessel and Lucie joined hands in Anna's room sitting at the animal party table. That connection probably lasted a while longer.

7) and 10) Vampires can't stand sunlight - same goes for full moon, doesn't it? Well, at night and at full moon (not sure about full moon), the world ends for Vampires of that house a few meters after that. That's probably none of them (Mme Jessel and the vampire ballerinas never could go anywhere else and were dependent on Mme Wilson for "supplies". That's probably also why, in the end, the loose pieces on Anna's skin come off.

8) Mme Jessel put some mechanics in her back. Maybe she could repair the other damage as well, at least a little. And if I'm not mistaken, it looks a bit like Anna is wearing a corset, too. More a fashion/dress one, but it could help to stabalise her back as well. And after all, it's a horror movie with vampires ;)

11) Yes. :) EDIT: What would you do, if you just had witnessed these kinds of horrors, both of your best friends got killed horribly and, after the death of your mother, only 8 months passed and your dad wants to move in with another woman? I wonder if they thought about changing bodies again - they should be aware how it was done. I also wonder why they didn't seem to talk to each other a lot. Before committing suicide, I would have at least wanted to hear Anna's story from her point of view.
