Why was this cancelled?

This was actually a REALLY good show. Very hot actors... Although it would be hard to make a Vampire show on Disney because the storyline involves killing, sucking someone's neck, and (something big in the Vampire world) drinking human blood with your spouse for sexual pleasure. Those are pretty big things with Vampire tv shows. This was pretty much the PG version of regular teen Vampire shows, it was thoroughly entertaining, witty, and still appropriate for the disney audience and people who are kind of into Vampires but don't like the darker versions of it. I remember how disappointed I was when I found out it was canceled. I knew it went off for a while but thought a new season would come on around October I didn't know they cancelled the whole thing. That sucks, I still think it was a bad call to this day.

I don't think anyone really knows why it was cancelled. But yeah, it was a pretty bad move on Disney's part because it was a very good show and it ended on a huge cliffhanger. We can only hope that one day they pick it up again.

I think Teletoon and the Canadian side of the production is more to blame than Disney, who just bought the rights to air the show if I'm correct. The real reason for its cancellation is unknown to the public. Maybe it was financial or low ratings or a lack of interest to pursue more seasons? Big shame nonetheless. Should have at least given the fans another TV movie to give us closure.

Yeah, the TV movie and subsequent series were originally created for Teletoon. Disney picked up the US rights to the movie and first season in June, 2011. After Teletoon ordered a second season Disney picked it up as well. I assume that Teletoon decided not to pick up a third season, and that Disney wasn't interested in funding a new season by themselves. Possibly Teletoon decided they no longer wanted to order original material featuring live action, as Mudpit, a show that combined live action and animated segments, wasn't renewed after its initial 26 episode order. It aired at the same time My Babysitter's a Vampire did.

I think they should bring it back and have it on Freeform or MTV.
