When Jo was adding that poison or whatever to max's drink, I could of sworn I heard her dialing or texting on a phone. No?

Could the ending leave open the possibility for a sequel? Since we don't actually see Jo die, I'm led to believe she survived and could come back for revenge etc. Any time I don't physically see get a character die in a movie, I assume this lol.

I think even for this film, Jo being alive for a sequel is bit of a stretch.

It was just going for a dark ending.

Maybe the OP thought she grew wings and flew away.

Maybe she grew wings, but I think it's far more plausible that she used the door as a floatation device.
