Rank the segments!

1. Wadzilla - a treat from beginning to end! Loved it!
2. Zom-B-Movie - Though a wrap around, very effective, love the FX & gore.
3. Anne Frankenstein - Maybe my expectations were through the roof for an Adam Green mini-flick (love Hatchet movies, Frozen & Spiral), but a funny segment nonetheless...just not "great". Kane Hodder should NEVER consider Dancing with the Stars.
4. Werebear - About the only thing I liked about this segment was the music (yes, I'm a sucker for musicals), but the whole gay/50s beach party theme....LAME!

1. Diary/Frankenstein (had me laughing from beginning to end)
2. Zom-B-Movie (funny and reference heavy)
3. Wadzilla (not bad, a couple funny moments but could have been better)
4. Werebear (missed the mark completely for me)

I laughed more during the 20 mins of Frankenstein than I do at entire comedy movies sometimes...

reply

1. Wadzilla (thought Rifkin nailed the 50's B-movie look and feel)
2. The Diary of Anne Frankenstein (Absolutely hilarious)
3. Zom-B-Movie (Lots of fun!)
4. I Was A Teenage Werebear (Although I get the hate, I thought it was fun. Sullivan nailed the look and feel of a 60's beach musical with some Univeral monster stuff thrown in for good measure.)

1. "Wadzilla" - I think the last time I laughed that hard at a movie was "South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut." How many other movies can you find about giant carnivorous sperm?

2. "The Diary of Anne Frankenstein" - Kane Hodder as a vengeful pieced-together undead rabbi, Joel David Moore as Adolf Hitler speaking the best mock German since "Top Secret!", Kristina Klebe as a nymphomaniac Eva Braun, and a plethora of hysterically intentional cheesiness. What more could you ask for?

3. "I Was a Teenage Werebear" - I support gay rights just as much as the next open-minded heterosexual, but if they had to show Sean Paul Lockheart dancing around in an ass-less jock strap, they could have at least asked Gabby West to show her beautiful buns au naturale. Regardless, the musical numbers were funny.

4. "Zom-B-Movie" - An interesting twist on something already twisted, but rapist zombies? No thanks.

5. "Deathication" - Um... no. Just... no. Thank God it didn't last long.

Werebear, one of the worst things I've ever seen.

reply

"Werebear" was the only one that did nothing for me.

reply

The only one I really liked was the Frankenstein one which was weird because I'm not an Adam Green fan. Thought the Hatchet movies were boring and Frozen was really lame, but his entry into Chillerama had me laughing pretty hard.

reply

Had a blast with the whole thing, almost ...

My order:

1. Zom-B Movie -- it got a little overboard with the onslaught of references at the end, but overall it was fantastic. Joe Lynch could excise the other segments, add in a little more here and there with his various characters and have a GREAT (almost)feature on his hands. Loved it.

2. Wadzilla -- gets a little out of control with the puns at the end, and maybe the climax didn't live up to the setup (it loses focus once the sperm gets zilla-sized) but so much fun, especially the first half.

3. Diary of Anne Frankenstein -- wears out it's welcome just a bit with the "German" and never quite goes as apes*** as it could in any other direction, but still solid if underwhelming.

4. Werebear - I get it, and definitely appreciate the multi-tiered satire (in addition to AIP, teen beach movies, I Was a Teenage ___ and homophobia in general they were also kind of going after High School Musical too, right? - because that's "gay?" Lots of levels in there) but I think the segment was hampered by the format. It was clever, but not really funny. It either needed to be a 10-minute short or a full feature, and while the other segments all ended up way over the top (to their slight detriment) this one needed more of that, because it fell short in the end and felt restrained.

The segments from Rifkin and Green were entertaining enough, but for me it was Zom-B Movie that made Chillerama. From the graveyard opening to the sex zombies humping the car at the end, it was surprisingly fantastic. As much as I enjoyed Wadzilla and had fun with the other two, I kept wanting to go back to the framing story.

reply

Werebear also had a Twilight vibe too, the saving from a car accident is straight out of that (minus the brain damaged girlfriend) and the whole creepy stalker 'you can't get away from my obsessive crush on you' thing. It was the mocking of Twilight in amidst all the rest that made me appreciate it more than I might have without it. There can never be enough mocking of Twilight.

Who says violence is not the answer?

reply

1. Wadzilla
2. I Was a Teenage Werebear
3. Deathacation
4. Anne Frankenstein

I genuinely had a hard time ranking these as they all entertained me. I loved this film for all it's silliness and even the gore was hilarious.

"Hey! Ladies! That was fun!"

reply

1. Anne Frankenstein (hilarious)
2. Teenage Werebear (silly fun)
3. Deathacation (stupid fun)
4. Zom-B-Movie (too long, tries too hard)
5. Wadzilla (tries way, way, way too hard)
