Being an admirer of the work of Chen Kaige this is a film I want to watch but I haven't been able to find out much about the release date for this aside from it having seen a release in China and HK.

Will it see a worldwide release soon and if so WHEN?

Saw it in New York at the Asian Film Festival and a person there said by the end of July it would get released. He didn't say how wide though; probably get the big city only release. I say, if you don't live in such a place, buy the DVD; it's worth it.
