This week 'Films that shaped us': WHO CARES?

In order for me to care about what films "shaped you", you have to be someone I care about or want to know. This is NOT the case!
I have given up on this show. They keep showing us old "S%E" shows for movies that have been out for decades, and now THIS?
Forget it.

That wasn't this week's show. This week's show was a regular review show. The "films that made us critics" episode is from January or February, I think. Maybe your PBS station reran it by accident?

Well, how are you ever supposed to know or care about the critics' opinions if you get angry when there's a show devoted to cluing us into them?

DEAL WITH IT

But the episode that was supposed to play is online at the Ebert Presents website and this was a repeat but I still liked this episode a lot. I love that Christy Lemire listed Magnolia, a film I adore, but a lot of people including a lot of critics just absolutely hated and she did the same thing with No Country. It is nice when anyone stands by their picks no matter what and that includes Ignatiy Vishnevetsky who I don't share a lot of film picks with but he does show a lot of films that I have no hard of and inspired me to check out.

Some people just hate film critics, no matter who they are.

Siskel and Ebert did something similar in the 80's. The idea was to show what films inspired them to be in this profession. I think the problem here was there was no debating back and forth over the films.
