Am I the only one that thinks that Christy & Ignaty have been on fire since this show came back from that "summer break?" Those two J. EDGAR reviews were amazing, for example.
Too bad about the funding issue. Really, really hope this show stays on.
I think the review quality is way up since early summer. I think they've become comfortable with each other's styles and with the camera, etc., and it reflects on the show's quality. Their reviews the last two or three weeks have been great on all fronts, the good, bad, and mediocre. Friday's episode (The Descendents, The Immortals, Jack and Jill, Greening of something somewhere, etc.) was probably one of the best of the season.
I'm kind of confused about the funding thing, but I, too, hope they get it worked out. Even if they have to find another venue and/or sponsorship. At the very least, the major studios should form a joint venture to bankroll things like this (with safeguards for critical independence, of course), as it's far more likely to get me to see a film (even a split like The Immortals) than their multimillion-dollar crap marketing campaigns.
