In the episode Scarred where they're looking for clues in the rogue Guardians quarters to figure out any clues to stop Aya. In doing so, Hal moved a book out of the way that had The Black Lanterns logo on its spine.

I bet we would have seen a Blackest Night storyline if the show wasn't prematurely cancelled.

I'm guessing they represent 'Death' ? You're probably right. Show got cancelled too soon.
