Suspicions of Mr. Wicher

Taped this programme, but timing was incorrect. Did not record last section. Can anybody tell me what happened at the second trial ?

If I remember right, Foley admitted that he had found a bloodied nightdress and thought it was menstrual blood and didn't want to embarrass the family so put it back where he found it and when he went back for it - after Whicher insisted it was important - it was gone. The judge was annoyed that he had ruined Whicher's reputation.

A vicar admitted that Constance had confessed and refused to say what she had said.

Constance read out a brief statement she had made insisting that she had killed Savill and only her alone. The Judge decided she was to be sent to trial.

Whicher still believed that brother was involved and pleaded with her not to take the burden of guilt alone, but, she insisted it was her. Whicher warned her brother to make the most of his life because she had given up her life for him.

Somehow, Constance was released from prison after several years and went to join her brother in Australia where I think she worked as a nurse

to DBlackman70.

You are a star! A full summary of the finale and I thank you very much for taking the trouble to reply. I hope you enjoyed the story as much as I did. What made it so interesting was that it was based on an actual murder.

I really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the second one, but, it was abit uncomfortable knowing that the second one was totally fictional and the real Whicher never really bounced back. Having said that, I am liking Whicher as a detective and would like to see more stories
