I often wonder if some people (like you, kidjay) truly saw the film when I read comments like this. If you're good looking and successful you have no problem at all, that's what you say. And you didn't see anything beyond the surface of Brandon's life, did you? You didn't wonder why he doesn't want to see his sister, why his life collapses and he breaks down when she suddenly appears in his life. You didn't wonder why he so compulsively looks for sex, under every form, but he can't perform with the only woman who shows him tenderness. Okay. Nice way to watch movies, now go back to Fast and Furious.

His explanation of the "four month" relationships he has, epitomizes me fully, I stay in shape, but won't brag about how handsome I am.. But I always break everything off after a short time, I think the sex does get boring, and there is so many women around to tempt us.
Looks could be a part of that, because it makes you super picky, and it's available to choose women.. But I do think I could settle down eventually, as great as it is to have lot's of women in your 20's-30's.. You don't want to be the lonely 65yr old dude, where you either have a solid marriage, or are lonely, women aren't as willing to dance around with an older guy.. Not to mention women if they want kids, are cut off at 35-40yrs old, so be a player with no kids, and lonely and old later, or find the right one at 40yrs old...
That being said having lots of women, I still won't do that gay stuff, or ever "pay" for sex like this character did.
Wow, OP you clearly missed the point of this film. In fact I think you should stick to your day job. Addiction is not a laughing matter no matter how good looking or rich a person is. thats the first thing you'd say "loads of sex, yeah!!" and I think to a poit you're joking, but this sex thing is seen to be a problem in that it invades his work, his life (all the porn he has stashed) and at the end it is so totally out of control he's in gay bars and paying for threesomes, but he's never happy. his life is out of control, and yet no friends, no family, no joy at being around people that like him

Anonymous sex in excess is disgusting. After a while it erodes your soul and makes you feel profoundly alienated from the human race. Notice in the film, he couldn't even get it up with the one woman that he actually knew; he could only have sex with complete strangers. Believe me it is a sickness that can destroy someone. This film shows this effectively.
