I want ODST 2.


But instead of making it an expansion pack, it should be its own game with new graphics, and new engine, and so on. And it should really make you feel small and vurnerable. No near single handedly taking out huge waves of Covenant, no running at Spartan speed, no meleeing uninjured Brutes to death. They should just make it a game that does more with less.

And why not make it more tatical by including things like timed explosion, plantable mines, silencers that can be placed or removed from weapons, level design that gives you a 360 degree battlefield that allows you opportunity to take your enemies on from below, above, behind or head on (the first ODST did this, but I think it could be pushed even further).

And put REAL STEALTH into this game. The silienced weapons in ODST looked cool, but as far as keeping you undetected they were a joke. I think you should be able to just sneak your way past most of the game if your careful enough. Imagine how satisfying it would be to kill an entire Covenant squad in their sleep, pick off commanders with a silenced sniper rifle and slip back into cover before you're spotted, plant explosives then get to a hiding spot as a Covenant vehicule passes on patrol. Of course, you should still be able to just go guns blazing, loud and proud if and when you want to, just not feel overpowered when you do.

I didn't like ODST at all. It was easily the worst campaign in the entire series. Me and my friend beat the game in 2 hours on Legendary. There was no reason why that game should have been more than $30. Instead it was full price and to top it off you had to buy the game if you wanted to get the Mythic disc ( which was BS because I had already paid for the Mythic map pack only to find out 4 of the maps were on the ODST disc, go figure). Then I couldn't play a lot of the different game types online because I didn't have the maps. Mirosoft wanted us to shell out full price for what should have been an online expansion for half the price. So I refused to buy the game and had to wait a few months before I could download those maps.

It's the only Halo game I wouldn't buy for the campaign. Firefight was cool but it still wasn't enough for me to consider buying the game after experiencing the horrible campaign. I'm glad I never bought it seeing as Reach has improved heavily on everything new ODST added to the series.

I didn't like it much either, the ending wasn't very relevant to the whole Halo story, and it's way too easy with a low replay value.

I think the OPs idea has potential. I liked the concept of ODST, take on the covvies as an average human, but thought the games execution was very lacking.

Thank you! It doesn't have to be a bigger game, just a more intense game. And it can put heavy emphasis on team work, not that you'd have to play the campaign in co op, but doing so would actually better compliment the story.

I do like all the Halo games and really enjoyed most of ODST. I do think that it wasn't necessary to have the main charachter as a nameless, faceless "Rookie" Trooper, I think having a young fresh out of Boot Camp private Smith or Jones who could be male or female would have been better even representing the Kid off the promotional trailer at the ODST funeral would've been better and I'm not too sure of the romanctic stuff. I liked the whole idea of the new squad member finding him or herself left alone to find his squad concept. A sequel would be pretty cool. I too finished this game in a few short hours but I found it to be very traditional to Halo lore...

I disagree with most you. I loved odst. The music, the characters, gameplay, and firefight were more than enough to keep me and my friends preoccupied for many months. But i can see how many people would see it as an expansion pack. I also see it as something to help us all wait for reach to come out. But i have to say that the musical score in this game is some of the best i have ever heard in video games.

Couldn't agree with you more. I remember the thrill when I first caught wind of "Halo:Recon"...the inital VISR screenshots, seeing brutes from a normal humans perspective, the interviews with developers stating that you couldn't simply fight your way through missions like Master Chief. The reality differed however. As enjoyable as the campaign was, it never really matched what the initial publicity. The thing is as much as the charging head first into waves of Covenant, ripping turrets from their stands and such forth all felt well and good when you were a Spartan, but didn't quite fit for a normal human. Especially given how quick the ODSTs tended to die in the previous games campaigns.

Like the OP said, parts of the campaign seemed to have the right tone (the rookie stalking the streets of Mombassa avoiding covenant patrols, basing the campaign over a single night) but lacked the proper execution. A regular human shouldnn't be shrugging off extended blasts from a spiker; I felt Romeo's mission embodied the difference between the expectation and reality of ODSTs gameplay.

From conversations with other Halo fans & general opinion on message boards, there does appear to be a demand for a stealth based Halo game. As much as I enjoy the premise of "Superhuman fights off waves of aliens in huge battles", it would be great to experience the some of the aspects offered by newer franchises whilst still rooted in the rich universe offered by the Halo games.
