That is both true and false. Yes. It has been stated that the show was cancelled and that there were more story lines on the way. HOWEVER. The season 5 ending is a very tiny cliffhanger. We get Stan Lee for the first time ever. We also know that Mary Jane never really died [she fell in a vortex] and that Madam Web knows her location. Plus SPider-Man saved the entire universe when he stopped Spider-Carnage. And the show ends with Web taking Peter to the real Mary Jane Watson which implies a happy ending to the show. So while the production of more episodes stopped the show did end properly. Was there room for more adventures? Yes. But since they knew that it was going to end they gave us the courtecy of making an ending for the show that implied happiness and victory of the hero which is acceptable given the fact that the show was mostly aimed at children and teens. I am not sure if you read my previous comment. I hope you did. You say that USM adds many storylines from the comics. I am sorry to tell you thing but in the particular case it should be quality>>>quantity. You can bring tons of comics in the cartoon but if the quality is lame and the story and characters arent well developed then you will end up with a gigantic failure. Ask the creators of Flash. In season 2 they tried to bring in more comic book elements and they literally raped the story they had established earlier in the same season. And the ending was to set up Flashpoint Paradox which made no sense since in the first season the hero has a chance to cause it but learns and accepts the fact that he cannot do it. So it doesnt matter how many stories you have if you cant put them together nicely. Also you cannot argue about the fact that in USM Spider-Man is a moron. His jokes are lame and misplaced and the constant breaking of the 4th wall is illogical and misplaced.
