Boll turned social commentator?

I don't find Holocaust films particularly easy to stomach, but I'm really interested to see Boll's Auschwitz. I've been hearing really good things about Attack on Darfur, and if he was able to paint a realistic and powerful portrait of the situation in Sudan, then I have faith in his ability to do the same with his latest film. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMga2pM0Jjc

The man does like 6 films a year. He rushes productions, and I doubt if he does more than one take. He doesn't commit himself to quality in the slightest, just cheap thrills. That are really cheap. And not thrilling.

Did you watch Darfur? It didn't look rushed at all.....

"You are tearing me apart, Lisa!"" The Room..a cinematic masterpiece.

Fassbinder was also making an average of 6 films a year on rushed productions.

Okay so this is Uwe Boll we're talking about. Let's look at a few things. One he's a German film director making a movie about the Holocaust. Okay, not a hugely shocking thing. However, he's also quoted as saying his movies are financed with Nazi gold. Maybe he said the facetiously but, it still cast aspersions on anything he's going to make representing the Holocaust.

Here's what Boll is doing here, making a controversial film that everyone is going to talk about so it makes money. It's not going to be a sensitive portrayal of anything. It's not even what he bills it as which is a film that finally tackles the true horrors of the Holocaust. No, he's exploiting the Holocaust to make money by creating an ultra violent film that will not fail to be talked about because of the fact that it is Uwe Boll directing it. Casting himself as a guard at Auschwitz is not exactly making my point look any weaker. Also a lot of people are going to want to see how sick and depraved this film really is.

He's exploiting the Holocaust to make money. He's not trying to raise awareness about it. He's not trying to horrify future generations into never committing the atrocity of genocide again. No, he's planning to line his wallet with this. For that reason alone Boll is a reprehensible person. I don't believe this is politically motivated or anti-semitic in nature. It's motivated by pure greed on his part.

People who want to see sick violence will go and see it to see it for that reason. People who hate Boll will go and see it to reinforce their own hatred of him. Enough people will go see it that it will turn a profit. If certain countries ban the movie and if critics and holocaust survivors attack it, it will only serve to make it more profitable.

The Darfur movie was a testing ground for this sort of historical Grindhouse film highlighting genocide. This is the next logical step in his mind.

Boll is masterful at one thing, everyone talks about him, most people hate him and a lot of people go and see his movies just to see what crap he's churned out this time. He need to keep evolving that image to stay relevant. This is the next evolution and I guarantee it's going to work as well as he wants it to. He's a genius in that aspect alone.

No Uwe is not a social commentator. He is simply hated by 80% of the movie "community" and decided to pull som love by pulling the old "nazi lever". Simply spit on the kid everybody hates and maybe they will hate you less....
