Boll needs too give up!

Just watched the teaser trailer for this (the guard stood outside the gas chamber). Couldnt even get past the first 10 seconds. Just awfull. We are all aware of what happend. But Im not really sure I want too sit for 2 hours watching people being tortured and muderd. I really hope that people stop financing Boll. Being shocking isnt going too get him the respect he seems convinced he deserves. Its just going too make people think hes more of a twat than they already do. He needs too accept even with serious subject matters it doesnt put you in the big league. Give it up Boll. For everyones sake.

And you need to learn that "to" and "too" aren't interchangeable if you want people to take your criticism of film seriously. Throwing an apostrophe in at appropriate points wouldn't go amiss either.
You may decide based on 10 seconds that you don't want to see it, but others have seen Darfur and know he can actually handle serious subject matters well - certainly an order of magnitude better than his game movies.

Regardless of my spelling he is considerd one of the worst film makers of all time and with good reason. Showing people being murderd for the sake of it doesnt make a good film. If this is even remotely better than the rest of the *beep* that he pedals ill be amazed.

Are you the sort of person who rates movies without seeing them, just because you hate the director? I've seen movies with great trailers, that totally sucked. Since I've never seen this, I can't criticize this. Anyone actually seen this?

Rampage wasn't nearly as bad as most of the crap from Hollywood. True, he's made a few incredibly bad films. That's why no one is ever going to take him seriously, even if he would make a masterpiece.

Also, there's an entire genre called "torture porn". I've got news for you. Lots of people enjoy watching people being tortured in movies. Guess what, it's not real.

reply

Someone could make a pedophilia-exploitation film with 18-year-old kids that look much younger, and even thought "it's not real" doesn't change the fact that it would be disgusting and repugnant. Just because something in a film is "not real" doesn't mean it's okay.

Also, I have news for you, lots of people enjoy watching people being tortured in real life, but the number of people that enjoy it doesn't somehow validate the act.

graeme-hutton....

So you bash the OP for deciding they won't see this film based on the first 10 seconds of the trailer. Then say you won't respect their opinion due to a typo.
Can we say hypocrite?

Auschwitz (2011)

Description:

A Holocaust exploitation movie. A movie with no commentary, no human psychology, no plot, no point, no redeeming values, and no happy ending. Just nearly two hours of gory, relentless, Hostel-type violence against ordinary people. It's absolutely disgusting. Uwe Boll is using the Holocaust as an argument to show the most gruesome things on the screen... and for no reason aside from the "just for the hell of it" addage. I'm not saying the brutality of World War II shouldn't be shown a reminder of just how brutal the war was. The brutality was shown in other movies ('Schindlers List', 'The Pianist', etc.) But there's a difference between those type of movies and violent exploitation filth which Uwe Boll sees either as sensationalism, a sick joke, or as a comment on blood and violence in our society, or a combination of all three which he uses in all of his movies. People like Uwe Boll who cannot understand the difference between it is really damaged in the head.

Avoid at all costs.

Boll is like this generation's Ed Wood, he's mostly awful but relentless nonetheless.

That said, I really enjoyed Rampage, when a friend of mine who wasn't aware of Boll recommended it I was surprised as he has good taste usually, but I was even more surprised when I watched it and found it very entertaining.

Irregardless, I'll never forgive him for Alone in the Dark, I've played the games and the story had a lot of potential but the movie was a god awful mess which had absolutely nothing to do with the games' storyline.
