A third Neverland?

Did they mention having a part 3 to Neverland?

reply

There should be b/c how will Peter get back to the real world *when he mees Wendy*Without the orb? He thought he said it wa buried somewhere at the end.

Just because we lose today's battle doesn't mean we've lost tommorow's war.

reply

Seriously? He flies there.... that is how Peter gets from Neverland to Earth in every adaptation of Peter Pan... you know, "second star to the right and straight on til morning?" Kind of a famous line. Without the orb the pirates and Indians won't be able to get back to out world because they lack the ability to fly, but since Peter can fly he can travel to Earth with ease... he will fly back to Earth, meet Wendy, John, and Michael, sprinkle them with Tink's pixie dust (or mineral dust as they called it in this miniseries) the they all FLY back to Neverland and I think we all know the story.

reply

I hope he has a space suit, then.

"He's already attracted to her. Time and monotony will do the rest."

reply

Exactly! That would be a hard flight even for Peter LOL

reply

Really? You have no problem with Peter Pan defying the laws of gravity but find it too unbelievable for him to survive in the cold vacuum of space? It's called magic.

reply

I was hoping that would be shown at the end of this movie. I dunno if Peter is supernatural but Wendy was just a normal girl, I don't see how she could survive the flight through space, and how long it would take since Neverland is like on the other side of the galaxy.

But then again this movie might not be canon to the story.

Just because we lose today's battle doesn't mean we've lost tommorow's war.

reply

Well first of all: magic. Second of all: magic. It's been awhile since I read the book but I think they described the flying as seeming to take weeks

reply

Well I agree about the getting to the real world crap, but there is one thing I can see that could be tricky about getting Wendy and the others to neverland. Didn't they have to swim through that mineraldust thing while faires were singing to be able to fly? Huh, oh well whatever maybe it's just enough with a small bottle of it and tinkerbell.

But that aside, thought this show was great!

reply

watch it again. It's explained in the mini series.. swimming part was to help Peter heal.. the reason Peter didn't get killed was because his heart is pure being a child and being like the tree spirits who also have pure hearts.. The dust doesn't just make him fly, he has other powers too, which are also mentioned.

So in short, as long as wendy and co have pure hearts the dust from tinks won't kill them.

<< the reason Peter didn't get killed was because his heart is pure being a child and being like the tree spirits who also have pure hearts.. >>

Dear Lord I may laugh myself hoarse. Peter? Pure-hearted? Oh that is a good one. You do realize he was part of a gag of thieves & orchestated the breaking into Harbottle's in the first place -- and this is being pure-hearted??? -- LOL! That's a good one! News-flash. Being a child doesn't make you pure of heart necessarily, that all depends upon your upbringing, and moreso upon your overall character as a person.

How come the only time he displays the ability to move thousands of times faster than light is when he flies to Earth?

Well, that was in the 2003 version of "Peter Pan", so I guess that was just the director's notion. In Barrie's book, they actually flew across the ocean and it takes them days to reach Neverland(implying that its on earth somewhere). They never showed him flying thru space in "Neverland" -- did they?

reply

Well actually the original directions were "second to the right and straight on til morning" - Disney added the "star" to the already famous directions. Kinda like how everyone believes Dorothy always had red slippers. *sigh*

reply

No, it's a two-part miniseries. Shame, 'cause the ending was super abrupt.

"He's already attracted to her. Time and monotony will do the rest."

reply

I really REALLY hope they don't make a 3rd one... jesus, 2 was 2 to many.

reply

Why, did mommy force you to watch it? lol

But it says it lasts for 240 minutes here on IMDb and it ended abruptly. So are you sure there won't be more? Seems weird to me.

Well, 2 two-hour installments would give you your 240 minutes, so it would appear that's all for now. I do agree it ended rather abruptly and Peter lost his shadow waaaaay to soon, IMO. It does seem as if it was left open for a "possible" further installment, but that will depend upon reviews/ratings both SyFy & Sky Movies get. They may just want to leave it at that, even if that's a bit disappointing, as many questions were still left unanswered. I'm hoping for more, but not holding my breath.

Not that I'm aware of, though part two did end ambiguosly, rather open-ended with lots of unanswered plot questions/options to be answered in a possible third installment. I for one would like to see that, as it would have to be some considerable time before Wendy is introduced, plus Peter would have to learn how to travel between worlds by means of flying only -- otherwise there would be an orb in Darling children's nursery for their parents to find and that would really complicate things.

Golly, you all are a bit narrow-minded. First off, do you all REALLY think the orb was buried like Peter said? Gosh, he might have just said that to ensure no one would go after it.

Peter... flying in space?? Have you all gone mad? Sci-fi movie, sure; but you believe this?

Peter will use the orb many many times again before he meets Wendy. Someone said something about the Darling family home if Peter uses the orb there? I'm sorry, even in all the other adaptations, Peter took the kids OUTSIDE the home before they left for Neverland.

GEESH!!!

reply

<<I'm sorry, even in all the other adaptations, Peter took the kids OUTSIDE the home before they left for Neverland.>>

WRONG!!! Starting with the JM Barrie book, stage play, the 1924 silent version, the 1953 Disney animated film, & the 2003 live action version of "Peter Pan", Peter leads the Darling children out of the nursery window -- they FLY out of the house, they do NOT go outside before leaving with Peter. Dear Lord, what have youe been reading and/or watching. Peter & the children have ALWAYS FLOWN out of the nursery. ("Hook" does not count, as it is a sequel, not an adaptation of "Peter Pan") So you need to get your facts straight.

The 2003 version implied they flew through space by showing planets, moons, etc during the flying to Neverland sequence. There are some hints that Neverland is in another realm if you watch the Disney version. But if you read Barrie, Neverland is somewhere on this planet because after defeating Hook, Peter sails the pirate ship across the sea to take the children home, so as not to tire them out; the flight to Neverland took several days in Barrie's book. It is only when they are nearing London that the children fly back to their house.

Not that I dislike the orb method of travel, espescially since most versions do imply that Neverland is in a realm not of this world, so I actually like it better than the idea of flying through outer space. But you are dead wrong on the notion of Peter taking the Darling children OUTSIDE before leaving for Neverland. They always, always fly out of the nursery window after being sprinkled with pixie/fairy dust.

In the movie, Peter says he hid the orb in London where no one would look. They can still fly out the nursery window and eventually fly to the orb. Also, it is possible for Peter to take the pirate ship easily and sail it back to earth... The orb got the ship to Neverland in the first place, so surely it can get it back.

Also, to the orbs credit, its kind of impressive that the orb took the pirate ship out of water, and perfectly set it down in water on another planet... They could just as easily have ended up with their ship landing on a mountain... There is no telling where they will come out...

I for one would love to see a continuation of this!

According to Charlie Rowe (who played the part of Peter), there won't be any further episodes of Neverland. It's a shame, really, since a whole series could be made about it, showing how Peter and the Lost Boys explore the various islands of Neverland, having all sorts of adventures in the process. Well, I guess the further stories will have to be told in fan fiction.

reply

Well that sucks that there won't be another one. I absolutely loved Rhys Ifans portrayal of Hook. Though nobody beats Dustin Hoffman in my book for best Hook. I didn't care much for the 2003 version. But I love Jason Isaacs and he was great. But Rhys Ifans was better than Jason. But Dustin is the best.

But in short, I would've loved another one.

That's what I want to know! Its been like a year and I haven't seen a 2nd DVD. I want to know if SciFY will continue this series because I think they did pretty well with it.

The end of the second movie talks for itselfe abrubt ending with , peter you dont have no shadow and clip the end direct, and the question hanging in the air.and ol of now there is more to come.
Maby they already made the third and its comming :)

reply

This series is a prequel to the original Peter Pan movie. So, the original movie would be part 3. At the end of part 2, curly points out that Peters shadow is missing, this is why Wendy finds Peter in her room in the original movie trying to catch his shadow.
