Yeah the 2003 movie called "Peter Pan"... it stars Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy from Harry Potter) as Mr. Darling/Captain Hook and Jeremy Sumpter as Peter Pan. It is my favorite adaptation of the story. The score to it is great and the cinematography is top-notch... I definitely suggest that one.

My favorite is Finding Neverland with Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet. Not exactly Peter Pan, but more a semi-autobiographical account of its creator and what inspired him to create the story.

Dustin Hoffman was in this film as well, but not as Captain Hook.

There was also a silent one from the 1920s.

Yes, it has Betty Bronson as Peter and for its time it's quite a good adaptation. Fairly faithful to the Barrie story. Highly recommend that, as well as the 2003 version w/Jason Isaacs -- he makes a wonderfully dangerous Hook. As for the Mary Martin version -- I couldn't watch more than about 30 minutes & I had to turn it off. Too syrupy sweet and sappy -- I wanted to go throw up. Makes Hook look like some sort of a buffoon. You might also want to read "The Child Thief" -- it's a more modern re-telling of "Peter Pan". Can't remember who wrote it off hand but I got it & the Bronson DVD from Amazon.

The Child Thief was by Brom. It was a good read, but very, very dark.

That's right, Brom. And yes it is very dark, but if you really pay attention to Barrie's "Peter Pan" it's a very dark tale too.

Also the 1960 version of the Broadway musical, with Mary Martin, and the 2000 version of the Broadway musical with Cathy Rigby.

Really? Wow I got to check that out, now that's a bit more of a modern retelling of Peter Pan. And I think there was another movie called Neverland that took place in the modern day, but it was being set in an amusement park called Neverland. But it did have character that mirrored Peter Pan and Captain Hook.

If you like books, there is a series called Peter and the Starcatchers that's based on Peter Pan.

Tin man sucked too, mostly. Scyfy is bad on my childhood classics.
The last thing I wanna do is hurt you...but that's still on the list.

There's also a 1976 version with Danny Kaye as Hook.

There's a new web series on YouTube called "The New Adventures of Peter + Wendy" and it's a great modern re-telling of the story. Really funny but it's also got the heart of the story. http://thenewpeterandwendy.com
