bad movie

I agree with those who say this is truly a terrible movie for the most part. I almost turned it off, but toward the end I found it got better and even produced a warm Christmassy feeling, much to my surprise-- not worth sitting through the agonizing first three-quarters, however. The waitress was the only good portrayal--she partially saved the movie. The daughter, Jeremiah, the guy who fell into the mine (without injury--please!),the toystore owner, the husband--all were awful.

This was showing on Channel 5 the other day here.
I gave TTCH a 4 out of 10.
Have seen much worse such as last nights Santa with Muscles.

I have to agree. I don't expect a whole lot from these sorts of basic cable holiday movies. They're meant to be uncomplicated and sentimental, and follow the same basic formula of redemption, learning from each other, and warm and fuzzies at the end. Nothing wrong with that, of course. At least when it's done well. The Town... though, wasn't done well at all. Bad acting, bad script, bad plot twists, and so on. I wish Lauren Holly hadn't been in this one. This sort of bad treacle is better suited to the likes of Kathie Lee Gifford.

4/10.

I didn't find any of the characters irritating so I kept with this movie. I needed to see how the town's problems were resolved. Samantha, the waitress was the best character. I seem to know her face.
