What's happening with this movie?!

Anybody here? Has anyone seen this, maybe at a festival or special screening? It's too good a movie, and with such an excellent cast, to just sink without ever having even swum. This should be playing at one of the theaters here in Dallas, and be seen all over. There's so much crap in movie theaters these days, to the point that I'll look over everything playing at one of the huge multiplexes, and there's not one movie I'd pay the money, or give the time to see. And then I find out that John Sayles' latest movie, starring Chris Cooper and some other well known actors, isn't even going to play at any of the regular theaters here in Dallas, but got three days or so at the scrappy little Texas Theater, where probably very few people saw it (I didn't). WHAT'S WRONG?! Crap gets a home, and good, intelligent movies get left out in the cold. Pisses me off.

Hey there...

I just finished watching this film tonight, and I agree with you--it's amazing! I loved it!

I also agree with you that it's sad that such films don't get the exposure they should, yet--we get the same mess at theaters. There are a lot of things that factor into such predicaments though...

Luckily, I was browsing a gay forum and ran across someone talking about the movie. The plot seemed somewhat interesting to me, so I decided to check it out. I'm very glad that I did!

a lot of good films don't get exposure, and i really liked this one. the fact they left a lot of things out of the frame kind of unsettles me but is also nice in a weird kind of way.

definitely worth watching.

I watched it on television. It's decent but it has a very noticeable "movie of the week" feel to it.
