Is every life REALLY beautiful?

I can't help but ask the producers and fans of this movie two simple questions

1. Will you still find that human life beautiful if the human life is gay?

2. Will you still find that human life beautiful if your child, brother, sister, father or stranger commits a crime that the state of Alabama decides is deserving of the death penalty? Why is that life not equally as beautiful? Which, brings me to my greater question - how can so many that are anti-abortion be also pro-death penalty? The disconnect and the irony is astounding.

Until they can honestly answer those questions, I have a difficult time supporting the film.

I wonder if they can honestly answer that they would view those lives in the scenarios written above as beautiful, based upon their upbrining. Here is a link to an article about the father of the two brothers that wrote/directed the film.

1. Yes that life is beautiful. The Bible teaches that they have some things to get straightened out but they are still a human being worthy of love and respect

2. Those lives are beautiful but justice must always be served when a crime is commited. The criminal going to death row is another of God's beautiful creations but they have royally screwed up and must pay the price. Even God despences mercy AND justice at the same time. Actions have consequences. Now to the other point about being pro choice and pro death penalty I think I've already covered that a bit but I'll go further. In the death penalty, a person who has lived and experienced life has commited a horrible act and must recieve justice. In abortion we have a child who has done no wrong and has not been given a chance to live yet they are being brutally killed. I hope this helps you a bit.

You sir, are utterly mental. That is all.

"You sir, are utterly mental. That is all."

...and yet you did nothing to refute it. Must suck knowing that you went to a liberal college and they didn't teach you that other opinions and beliefs exist. Tsk Tsk.

So we should all see a beautiful life, worthy of love and respect when we think of Hitler :-)

Life must be beautiful and simple, believing a fairy tale.

reply

1. Your Bible teaches that such life is really beautiful and appreciated by God, who in a certain instance also took care of the straightening out part, as it is told in the story about the fate of the city of Sodom.

2. So men should dispense justice, and leave mercy to God? So the part with "turning the other cheek" was just utopia, and must not be taken seriously.

reply

1. Yes. I'm pro-gay rights, I just think that they need to stop telling the Church to change our religious practices. Other than that, I'm fine with gay people, and even gay partnerships.

2. Yes. No one deserves the death penalty, because they may be a criminal, but they're still a human being, and deserve the same treatment as all human beings. I don't know why there are so many that are also pro-death penalty, as I've never seen the reason for it, either. Criminals are still people, and our justice system is not perfect. Some people say, "Well, don't do the crime if you can't do the time," or insist that the death penalty is practiced in order to keep our world safe. However, that doesn't justify killing anyone, since it is possible to sentence someone to life without parole, and even put them in solitary. It certainly doesn't justify killing the wrongfully convicted.

I'm Catholic and pro-life, otherwise I'm a moderate Democrat. There are plenty of us who aren't pro-death penalty, and who are pro-gay rights. Don't lump all pro-lifers under one umbrella, because outside of being pro-life, all of us hold different beliefs on all different subjects.

reply

1. Sure. I don't judge people by their race, sexual orientation, or other immutable characteristics. I HATE when people say "one of my best friends is . . ." but I had a openly gay friend who was one of the nicest people I've ever known. He moved away and we lost touch, unfortunately.

2. I'm ambivalent about this. I guess I am more against it than for it. It's always used as a "GOTCHA" question but the death penalty is becoming rare in this country -- there about forty executions or so every year, and most of them are in the South. Here in Pennsylvania, there hasn't been an execution in nearly twenty years. On the other hand there are more than a million abortions in this country every year, some of them done on viable babies.

I agree with what you say, amymroy. The prolife movement is NOT monolitic. I was raised Christian, and I do believe in God, but I have big problems with organized religion, so I don't go to church anymore. As for my politics, I don't like either party so I'm an Independent, and probably won't vote in the fall because I can't stand Romney OR Obama.

Question 1 is completely retarded. Quit being a bigoted douche bag.

Please take the time to read the whole statement. I promise this isn't a hate response!

A fetus has done nothing to deserve a death penalty.(keep reading)

Also, you were once a fetus. And your mom had a choice. She chose you. She chose your life. Are you not glad that she made that choice? Don't you think that most if not all of those dead babies would have chosen life?

I AM A CHRISTIAN! I love God, I love Jesus.
I LOVE GAY PEOPLE; I LOVE PEOPLE WHO GET ABORTIONS. No, I would not make the same decisions and lifestyle choices that they do, but who am I to condemn them?

October Baby is not just about anti-abortion. Its also about FORGIVENESS.

I would highly recommend you go see it. I don't know you so obviously you might not react in the same way to the film... but if you have personally ever felt guilty, abandoned, unloved. This movie might just surprise you.

Regarding your first point, I have to wonder... would you be okay with a mother aborting her child if he or she were found to have the "gay gene" you so desperately want to exist?

Of course, what difference would that make? Unless that was the reason for the abortion, then that would be utterly abhorrent and akin to aborting a fetus because it was mixed race, or had dark hair.

Sigh; When will people give up this notion that being gay is 'genetic'. There's never been any evidence for it, and there never will be, because it isn't. It's a choice.

But it is genetic. Please take a high school biology class or at the very least stop spouting your baseless nonsense until you do.

reply

I studied biology at high school and recall no mention of the gay lifestyle choice being genetic.

Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them. (Prov. 3:27)

This is some of the most backward logic I have ever seen. It's ok to kill your baby, unless you have some anti-PC reason for killing it. Then that's abhorrent. If you just want to kill it for the sake of killing, that's admirable. WTF?

reply

Whenever you possibly can, do good to those who need it. (Proverbs 3:27 GNT)

reply

Seriously? I'm straight, but I don't remember making a choice for it. And I've never met anyone who made a choice about their sexual preference. It comes naturally. When did you make your choice?

reply

When I was 3, I feel for my baby sitter. I chose to be straight after that.

reply

Oh trust me... they will "support" that this deviation is a "genetic" condition in order to impose their life style.

And truly a High School biology class was not close to answer what is coded in genes and what is not.... do study a bit harder.
Shut up and LIVE!

reply

Who would choose to be gay? That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Who would willingly decide to be intimate with someone they're not attracted to, to be considered 'different,' and to be discriminated against by idiots such as yourself?

You have chosen to be small-minded and uneducated.

reply

I agree 100%.. who in the world would choose to be gay.... even Gays admit that growing up they felt different.. Gay Men as kids already wanted to dress like girls, they already had tendencies to like boys, etc.. you are born with it... simple as that... if you are a gay man.. you are simply born with the female brain.. as a normal man.. who in the hell would go to a beach and be attracted to a guy's hairy ass as oppose to a women's beautiful bottom.. people think that they choose to prefer that? It's a no brainer.. you are born with it..

On another note, how can a movie like Inception get an 8.8 rating and movie like this get a 6.1.. I feel sorry for society. End of Post!

reply

"Sigh; When will people give up this notion that being gay is 'genetic'. There's never been any evidence for it, and there never will be, because it isn't. It's a choice. "

You are correct. With all the technology and advancement in medicine, they still haven't been able to find proof people are born gay even to this day. They haven't found a gay gene because there isn't one and you can't find what's not there. Liberals may not like this, but it's called Truth. I know libs hate truth.

reply

Yes, every life is really beautiful despite of the choices that those individuals will be making.

reply

" how can so many that are anti-abortion be also pro-death penalty? The disconnect and the irony is astounding? "

Well it's no different from your stupid logic that guns and the death penalty are bad but abortion is good. I guess you didn't look at it from the other point of view.

It's not that free, there's the small price of having to renounce all kinds of fun that christian doctrines consider sinful. Like pride, lust, lying, coveting another's wife etc. Also, you have to believe that, in a specific case, that of the Trinity, the number three is really equal to one.

reply

Did you really just call pride, lust, lying, and coveting another person's wife "fun"????? No offense, but I'm ok with living without that kind of fun.

Anywhere you go, let me go too...that's all I ask of you
