Actually have 'friends' who constantly make fun of your hobby and suggest it is a waste of time and stupid?
And if you do have friends like that, is that who you would take with you to a convention of your hobby and not someone who would enjoy the convention instead of sitting in the audience annoying everyone else there?
Okay, I have to admit I am kind of lonely when it comes to most of my hobbies, whether it be horror, certain tv shows, card collecting, movie collecting, even sports! I often come to the boards because of it. As far as conventions, I do have one best friend that has always gone to horror and music conventions and concerts with me. She is the only buddy that will like the goofy stuff I like. Unfortunately, she wouldn't go to the sci fi, comic Con, or Xena conventions. :(
I have thoroughly enjoyed any convention experiences and premieres I have been to. It is just so much more fun than simply watching a film (though I love that too!).
