The Newsroom is what it is because of Ken Finkleman. He was the producer, the writer, the director and the star of the show. Peter Keleghen was just one of the co-stars. When I initially watched the first season (1996-97), I thought that Keleghen was the funny one on the show. A few years ago, when I watched Season 1, Escape from the Newsroom (2002) and Seasons 2 & 3 (2004-2005) on dvd, I realized that George Findlay made the show. It was all about him. The Newsroom is perhaps my all-time favourite sitcom. You should see it again, if you like black comedy.

Just because The Newsroom was great, does not mean that Good Dog is going to be as well, but I hope so. I don't know if Lauren Lee Smith has done comedy before. A lot depends on her and the rest of the cast. The George character seems a lot like George Findlay. He drives a BMW, likes young women, is a cheapskate and only thinks of himself.
