What happened and why?

I felt a lot of stuff wasn't explained in this film.

It all seemed to be a lot of red herrings but I don't know what was plot hole and what was just bad writing.

Leo brings up why was Brody kicked out of Berkley but it's never explained what that had to do with anything. Did Brody have a mental illness? He's seen as documenting things, deliberately mentally torturing his girlfriend by locking her out when he was clearly home, and filming her in her sleep while suggesting to her daddy was gone. It seemed he had some kind of mean streak.

I was beginning to think that the end would be that both Brody and Leo were basically doing the same thing without the other realising it. It seemed at first Leo was just there to jump Kerry but then I wondered if he was there to play mind games and kill them both. Then I wondered if maybe Brody invited them both there to kill them in a jealous rage.

It was hard to determine really what was going on. Was it Leo or was it something else? Brody looked like his neck had been bitten...that made no sense. When Brody talked about someone standing over him when he was camping before I almost expected it to be Leo.

Utterly baffling story with no real conclusion, I like open endings but this was random.
