Why the hate?

I've seen a fair few clips of this show and although some of it didn't make me crack a smile, quite a few sketches made me laugh. One of the reviews on here made a comparison to Robot Chicken in that it's a sketch show parodying areas of pop culture and I guess that kinda works for a comparison: a family friendly version of Robot Chicken.

I've only really ever heard of the magazine in a few references in places like The Simpsons and whatnot, so I'm not too familiar with it (I don't think it's too big over here in the UK), but I'm just curious, why do people hate on this show?

To each their own, of course - I'm not going to mock people who like or hate it, I'm just curious as to why people dislike it (why they dislike it personally or whether there's a general reason for people to dislike it).

I originally rated it a 3 but just now came back to give it a 5. I think it improved and while it's not the best, it's certainly not the worst. Potty humor is annoying and some sketches seem...overdone.

I can't tell you, for I do not understand it. I enjoyed the magazine when I was younger, I loved Madtv & the cartoon has more of the feel of the old mag. Sure, it's psychotic, but I have to agree with you, it is much more family friendly than Robot Chicken as the latter chooses to work doll sex into almost every sketch. Don't get me wrong, I like Robot Chicken, but I have not encountered the iconic voice of Stan Lee in it. I have to say episode 83 of Mad with it's Man-Spider, was awesome & I almost fell out when I heard Stan Lee announcing it, just like all the Marvel cartoons I grew up with & my Spider-Man N64 game (yes, I can't give up my retro games lol). Thinking about it, Seth Green is a major component of Robot Chicken, he also has a lot of credits for this Mad series, perhaps that is another reason people choose to compare the two.

It has the same humor of the magazine but without the spice. It's trying to do the same while being kid friendly. And the result is pure vapid idiocy.

I rated it a 3. Out of Amazing World of Gumball, Regular Show, Adventure Time (I love them all) and Mad, I always try to avoid the latter.

I never got the hate either, I don't really watch cartoon network much except for adultswim, but Mad and Regular Show were pretty much the only two daytime shows that caught my attention in the past few years.

..or maybe not lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90qv3rcLfQI
