Why is this movie so broken?(Spolers)

What the hell went wrong? I mean *beep* the bad CGI, doesn't really matter for me as long as I can distinguish a stick from a sword and a gorilla from a bull, but what the *beep* happened to everything else? The Monkey King barely talks, and from what I gather this is supposed to be an origin story, but I didn't get half the things in it. Why was Wukong thrown into a jar with fire tornadoes and lightnings? What was that jar doing there in the first place? How the hell did he survive? He got hit in the head so hard he hallucinated himself resurrecting a butterfly so that made him stronger? BUDDHA poppin out of the blue to say hi and spank Son? I want some of that weed too...

Seriously though, I have no idea how truthful the story is to the source material, but as a movie it barely made any sense to me. In such mythological stories things must be explained first. The dude takes out a bigass stick outa the ocean floor, causes a tsunami and a vortex, and all he gets is a filed complaint? Who put that stick out there in the first place? Why were there holographic gods talking to Wukong? Aren't the Jade Emperor and crew gods? At some point I mistook Wukong's teacher for the JE...and why was there so many gods and like, ONE DEMON? What he couldn't have recruited some more powerful dudes for 250 years? He used the same weapon that he failed with the first time around, how the hell did burning a couple-a lowlvls make it on par with some guy that dopes himself with pills that multiply his power 30k times, on top of the fact that he has 192k years of xp in his pocket? So the demon had a wife but he got her pregnant after more than TWO CENTURIES? And now that hes a goat, does that mean there's no demons anymore? Like this whole movie is a fkin joke from one side and a bigass plot hole on the other.
