US Theatrical Release?

I'm a big fan of Donnie Yen and since this movie has a 100 million dollar budget I was wondering if there's a possibility it will get a US theatrical release. Anyone know or have an opinion on this?

Yes There are two version for The Monkey King

• Version One: will be in Mandarin for China, Hong Kong and other Asian territories.

• Version Two: will be in English for the US and European markets. It will be dubbed in English with new scenes shot in LA and unannounced famous american actors. Yes it will get a theatrical release.

Also two more movies in the works Part 2 and 3.

I would love to see both versions. I am so hyped for this and The Machine(2014).

Let me guess, the LA scenes will be a framing story which places the main movie in the dreams/fantasies of a white American boy... hmm, haven't we gone down this road before?

Just read that North American distribution rights have already been pre-sold for around USD 40 million in order to finance the post-production of this film.

So unless the North American distributors are happy to make their USD 40 million back in DVD sales and/or broadcast rights over the next few years... pushing for some form of theatrical release would be a better bet-- perhaps around Halloween (since most Americans would see "Animal-Spirits" as something akin to ghosts/ghouls)?

N.B. However, this also means that you will probably NOT see the cast & crew promoting this film outside of Asia (seeing as how they won't get anything out of it, since foreign revenue goes entirely to foreign distributors) unless foreign distributors/marketers are willing to foot the bill.

According to imdb.com, the US release date is 12 September 2014. i guess this will be the Chinese movie that got hacked and had English-language scenes added for the American/North American market. with that director, and with a finite $100,000,000 (100 million) budget, it would be worthwhile taking a look. even if it is straight to DVD.

Ive got it on DVD, it is just english subbed no english scenes added. Also i should say that this will be going away and never coming out again, it was horrible.

As we grow we learn, i have learned that if you don't like me grow up or ignore me.
