desire to become the next carlos mencia.

between wonder showzen and ray allin's "borrowed" ideas, the fact that the first season isn't even over yet does not bode well.

oblique references are good, tim&eric-style surrealism is good, and man-on-the-street skits are good, just not when we've seen it before.

When he starts re-iterating Bill Cosby bits word-for-word on stage, you can accuse him of that.

It's not surprising that Jon Benjamin has a similar comic style as Tim and Eric as he's been part of David Cross' inner-circle since the days of "Mr. Show," the direct forerunner to Tim and Eric's insignificant little fart of a tv show. Now nobody would accuse Tim and Eric of ripping "Mr. Show" off just because both contain surrealistic humour...and meta-humour...and anti-humour, right? Of course not, that's how influences work.

So go buy some perspective.

wow mencia ripped off cosby, too? thanks for the tip.

but you seem to need to "buy" some reading comprehension there yourself pal, as you focused solely on my mentioning the obvious t&e influence and little else --no answer to the actual rip-off of bits. nice attempt at deflection tho, ta-ta.

well, considering it's part of the abso-lutely productions, i'd say it's directly connected to t&e. and no one would accuse t&e of ripping off "mr. show" because they have worked on many occassions WITH odenkirk.. hell t&e even appeared in the one episode as the aliens. as did odenkirk. i wouldn't watch it if it weren't for that episode.. t&eb$m let's go!
