Leading her on for so long?

I enjoyed the movie, thought it was well acted and story was good but throughout the movie I was just thinking " surely he should know what he is doing is wrong?". He's pretty much leading her into a relationship. For half the movie I was thinking dude your sister is going to want to bang him and she did! It crept me out.

That's why she kicked the crap out of him.

And maybe why women are still considered smarter than men? If Sam had any real balls where his sister and nephew were concerned he'd have made a tentative introduction without lies. But most Hollywood revelations fall short of common sense nowadays. Or so it seems to me...

Who considers them smarter, women? :)

The writers figured if he just told her that would be the end of the movie.
The problem is that it becomes a relationship and you have the unspoken word in play, incest.

If there wasn't money attached, he would have have told her the truth sooner.

He clearly told her that he wouldn't hit on her and he had a girlfriend.

I liked the cast but hated how the story played out. For me, the film sucked because the whole time I kept wondering why he wasn't telling her they are siblings.

I agree. Too much time and situations between them... while she was thinking of feeling something for him....

Exactly this. I loved the movie and the ending was one of the best endings I had ever seen.

But right after the first 15 minutes I was expecting him to tell her the truth, and I was eager to see where the movie would take the characters from there. Instead, he never told her and the movie meandered along for the next hour while we are kept waiting. There were SOOO many situations where he could and should have ended his lies! I wanted to kick the writers in their genitals.

Then she falls in love with him which he should have predicted, I mean he is practically living in her apartment taking care of her son.... just so very infuriating that the writers played it that way.

Try and see it another way yes he lies to her and keeps it going but i look at it he gets himself so deep in his lies that he finds it hard to get out of it untill he has to.

he trys to get himself out by giving her the money and then trying to leave but the kid gets into trouble and he feels he has to help dispite his own troubles.

He knows how she feels about him and his mother so thats one reason also.

but I am glade you didn't blame the actor and only the writer you do bring up some good points.

No it isn't incestuous.

I think it should have been made more clear that he wanted to keep the money and that he was really a dirtbag who just had a change of heart; and maybe he could have kept his distance. His character was too likeable.

I thought it was a bit of a stretch that after what appeared to be a week; Frankie appeared to be in love with her 'brother'.

I liked the movie, but the pacing was horrible.

I know!!! I was watching it and I was just so on edge because I was like WTF man you know she is falling in love with you right? I mean geez when a guy as super hot as Chris Pine gets you and wants to take care of you and your kid you jump at that *beep* I mean geez I bet her ovaries turned into jelly. What a cruel joke for that super hot nice guy in your life to turn out to be your brother.

RIP Cory Monteith your fans miss you dearly

Put yourself in his shoes as well, yes he lied to her but you could see that as he got to know her he found it harder and harder to tell her.
She also told him that she didn't want anything to do with him and his family and that she had hated them. So as much as he lied he did with reason.
