after he breaks up the little fracas on the boat he seemed to just disappear, maybe I just missed him cos the movie was really poor and I never paid that much attention to it. can anyone enlighten me please?
Seeing as you are so clever dirtyding what did happened to Captain J? As I unfortunately did pay attention all the way through this pile of crap and he did just disappear.
Actually he is in the scene before the baton fight and during the getaway scene in the truck so you odviously didn't watch the movie past the half way mark
im rude for knowing more than you... that's an ignorant statement let me guess your american and your just butthurt cause your puny mind cant even comprehend a minor character in a simple movie
See there you go again you complete and utter moron and no I'm not American. You managed to spot a character I guess that makes you super intelligent well done you give yourself a pat on the back
What a tool. Bottom line: the movie was beyond aweful (even if the OP didn't clearly say that) and every person on the planet is entitled to ask any question they'd like. There are no stupid questions. There are only shell IMDb trolls ;)
Actually, Captain J IS NOT in the scene before the baton fight and during the getaway scene in the truck so you obviously can't tell the difference between a pivotal character, the bait shop owner -played by a well known and respected actor, Richard Riehle, with a very distinctive looking huge mustache BTW- from a boat patron played by an extra -a 'Joe Monds' fella- who had almost no lines of dialogue and no facial hair. I guess watching the movie past the half way mark is useless if you're not paying attention to it.
As you can see, condescendence is a bitch that must be handled carefully, either it can turn around and bite you in the ass.
You didn't miss anything, he did literally just completely disappear into the air. Didn't even realize till I seen this, and thinking back as only watched this yesterday, I do not recall seeing him after they were knocked out. I'm sure he probably was killed off straight away, but you didn't see it as he wasn't a main character in this.
Immediately after that scene, they are spotted by the other ship. When the ships maneuvre stern-to-stern, he is not on the deck with the passengers. Presumably he is steering his vessel. Thus, when the water bottle is passed over, he is not around to drink from it. This does not appear to matter to the people who passed it over - presumably they have done this many times before.
As the passengers are manhandled, one of the Watermen says "Let's see what old JJ got us this time"
Implying that JJ was in cahoots with the Watermen. After all, he shared a knowing glance with the scar-faced Waterman at the bait store, and said that the Pirates (as Jason Mewes called them) were wonderful people.
It's his boat - who better to sabotage it, and how else could the Watermen be in exactly the right place at the right time?
It was J's boat and the fact that he didn't seem in the least bothered that his engine was buggered, the radio didn't work and there were no distress flares on board, sort of gives away the fact that he was in on it. Having said that, he didn't need to sabotage the boat, he just had to drug those annoying kids himself and call in the fishing boat. Then all they had to do was kill them and all the drama would be over.
