Movies like this?

Just watched the movie, I thought it was brilliant. Lately I've been so put out by a lot of movies, because they seem so... identically structured and melodramatic. I really like these type of movies, because although it has an opening, the climax and the ending, it's not too obvious, you know? The characters just live their lives and show us things, without making a big deal about it. Before you know it, you really feel for them without actually knowing too much about them. It's very realistic and I love that. Those are the kind of movies that stay with you.

Anyway, cut to the chase: I was hoping to find out more movies like "Weekend". I felt this was very similiar to Before Sunset / Before Sunrise, I loved those too. So... any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

I wasn't crazy about this film but a similar one (and much better) is Wonderland:

Although they are short episodes and not a movie, The Outs has a very similar feel to Weekend. http://theouts.squarespace.com/

I also endorse the movies by Eytan Fox, but be warned, they are tragic dramas.

If you have interest in period films, I would suggest Merchant/Ivory's Maurice. It's heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time.

I just watched North Sea Texas yesterday. Really good. Different from Weekend but I came away with the same feeling I had when I first saw Weekend.

I suggest you check out Xavier Dolan's films... I killed my mother and Laurence anyways share similarities with Weekend. They're all wonderfully acted and directed as well

Agree with Yossi & Jagger, North Shore Texas, The Bubble. Also check out Eyes Wide Open, Big Eden, Latter Days and Edge of Seventeen.
