Am I the only one that didn't like it?

I at least can say I saw (like others) the beauty and longing in the film and by the end, the sadness was palpable. Now before anyone goes bashing me about how ADD I am, the movie seriously needed an editor. Things just dragggggged throughout the film and you don't always need a slow burn to build the story up.

Additionally, I'll echo what others have said on this board - what is up with all the mumbling? I should not have to read subtitles for an English speaking film. It sounded like the characters were having all these great conversations on what it's like to be gay, the gay community, etc. But that's just a guess since I heard 40% of what they said.

Finally, I never connected with the Glen character. Mostly, I found him to be annoying and too hot tempered. The constant drug use of both characters also put me off quite a bit.

A better script, editing and audio really could have made this the gay Before Sunset.

You are definitely not alone. I didn't like it either. As I have posted on here before, I watched the movie after hearing people saying a lot of good things about it, but I just didn't enjoy it at all. On a positive the acting was very natural but it was hard to connect with or feel anything for the Glen character. The constant drug use was just not needed. It really spoiled it for me.

Something was missing... Russ was more nuanced than Glen, extremely believable. I guess you either care for uneventful movies like this or Before Sunset, or you don't. The loneliness only got worse as the film moved toward the end, and I don't see how this can be called a "love at first sight" movie. Maybe heartbreak at first sight. "Weekend" was more depressing than even "Stranger by the Lake." Something was missing.

You're definitely not alone. I've seen a variety of gay films and this one just didn't have me invested in the characters enough to keep my interest. I really wanted to like it just because it seemed like a good premise and I had heard very good things about it but I just wasn't that impressed. I guess I just didn't care enough about the two leads to make the movie memorable. And I'm going to agree with your opinion about Glen. I didn't really see what Russell saw in him to want to fall in love with him. I just found him annoying, pretentious and kind of selfish. A good effort you could say but just didn't amount to much.

I watched it today and I see I already had given it 3/10, which probably means I didn't even manage to watch it to the end. The beginning is IMHO weak, you just have to fast forward in some points to see its merits. Or maybe it's just I liked the second time better, or I wasn't in the right mood... dunno.

I thought it was pretty boring as well. I just gave it one star higher than you and i saw the whole movie except some sex scene parts though i did something else. I don't have anything against gays but those scenes kinda grossed me out a little. Anyway, near the end when he was talking to his best friend i kinda hoped he didn't knew Russell was gay just to see his reactions while Russell brought up Glen. For me, i think that would have been the most interesting part in the movie.
