Two things about The Woman

1: Why did they lock up their own daughter in next to 2 dogs? I mean, there was a scene where the dad goes to his pregnant daugther. He tries to cheer her up. So he obviously loved his daughter, didn't he?
2: This is the first movie that finally shows that it is not very intelligent to fire a gun without ear protection. AND THAT IT IS *beep* LOUD!. I once shot a handgun without ear protection, well, i'll never do it again. This beeeeeep sound was very well done.

1) The sister has anophthalmia, he condition where one or both eyes do not form properly. Ibthink for whatever sick sociopathic reason decided to treat her as a dog. Maybe a 'project' like the Woman was?
2) I was impressed with that too! :)

just my opinions ofcourse

OK I see more clearly now. Especially the candle thing is interesting, although in my eyes it is not the exact same candle. However, thanks for your answers.

At the end of the book you have a short story. This story is about the life of the woman and peggy and darlin. In that story peggy talks about how her father raped her.

Sorry about the bad english!

To anja-stelzer,
I don't know where you're from (perhaps Germany?), but your English is not bad at all. No need to apologize. Thank you for posting.

I think the scene where the teacher comes to visit and the father says that Peggy does not have a boyfriend, that he would know...is taken to imply that if she is pregnant (which she quite clearly is) then her father is the only one who could have fathered the child!!

I'll have to re-watch this!

This would change my rating of 7/10 to like 8.5 because that def increases the evilness of the dad by 10 fold. I missed the candle speculation, but I remember his quote about what all women are good for...and their miserable at that half the time.

Safe to say and sadly he's the dad..of his daughters....child....man that's sick and evil!

"I mean, there was a scene where the dad goes to his pregnant daugther. He tries to cheer her up. So he obviously loved his daughter, didn't he?" Seriously?????????? He "loved" her alright - raping your own daughter and then "cheering" her up, thats pretty evil...

In the Bill Murray movie "The Man Who Knew Too Little" there was a scene where he shot a telephone in a room and remarked on how loud it was!
