I decided to watch this because it looked like an interesting premise,and I think Shailene Woodley is a great actress.. so I start watching this movie, and the lead actor is such a doofus. Am I supposed to believe that Aimee is thankful to be dating this guy?? If so, I want to live in that alternate universe. I'll have my sights set on taking Jennifer Lawrence to the prom.

1. Shailene Woodley isn't as attractive as you think she is.
2. This situation, where a guy with substance problems gets involved with a sweet girl, happens every day. It might be cringe-inducing to watch how awkward and even painful it is, but I've seen it.
"Oh, my God. Bear is driving! How can that be?!"
I would say the opposite: that she is more attractive than the script pretends she is.
