Engagement/Wedding question

I'm a bit late to the party. I just got around to catching up the last 5 episodes that have been sitting on my DVR for a few months. I guess it had just been too long since last summer's episodes, but I was really confused about Kate & Donnie's relationship status after the hiatus. For some reason, I thought Kate's doubts about re-marrying Donnie led to her calling off the wedding before the cliffhanger explosion.

In the return, I thought a big clue that Daniel was dreaming was when Kate asked Daniel to help her write her vows or something. I thought it had to be a dream because Daniel hadn't yet found out that the wedding had been called off.

In the last few episodes, they didn't really focus on Kate's cold feet until she disappeared from the church before the kidnapping was revealed. Was there anything more concrete that would have given me the impression that Kate had gone through with calling off the wedding, or is this just a case of me projecting where I thought the story was going because I was fuzzy on the details?
