S2e6 Defective - Glaring Need for Respect for Women

Daniel actually told Kate about Donny, "He's not all that bad. You should cut him some slack." Ew! What a terrible friend!

Donny didn't just get married and then figure out that he's not monogamous and challenged her by telling her he's attracted to others and wants to share an open marriage with her. Instead, he chose dishonesty and cheated sexually.

Add to that the fact he targeted both her sexuality and her social bonding by cheating with her using her best friend.

Then, after she leaves him, he stalks her and follows her and invades her work life. Once there, he interferes with her social bonding with others, such as her friendship with Daniel.

Donny hasn't changed one bit. He still ignores her when she sets boundaries and tells him, "No." He still disrespects her choices and her relationships with others. He's still all about himself. Disgusting, dishonest human being whom is too limited to engage in healthy relationships.

It was quite the betrayal when Daniel suggested that she view this man whom had attacked her sexuality, her heart and her mind, as "not all that bad" and as deserving of any more slack than she had already extended.

The writing reflects a genuine lack of empathy for that female character and instead, depicts a "boys will be boys" dismissal of negative judgment for a man whose character matches that of any criminal who violates the rights of others to get what he wants.

Susan, "but I was thinking..." Leo, "STOP! Thinking is for losers!" - Scandal's satirical message.
