I know i'm gonna get a lot of comments about how wrong I am and how much it sucked. However, everybody gets there own opinion and I absolutely loved it. I laughed at every joke. I laughed at the end credits. I even loved the massacre. Yeah, it wasn't as big as the first one. However, I still liked it. Also, I thought while there was a lot less blood, there was still enough to make it 10x gorier than your average horror movie. Plus, I loved the "threesome" scene. I was amazed at how tense the van and pier scenes were. I even loved Panabaker in this. However, my favorite character had to have been David Koechner. He turned that waterpark into a porno. I even thought that the piranha were awesome. I think John Gulagar did great directing. I honestly didn't notice any budget cuts. I thought it captured that spring break/summer feel perfectly. The girls were hot. I could go on all day about how much I LOVED THIS FILM. I really don't have a single complaint. Please understand though that this is my opinion. I know some of you hated the film. I understand some of you will disagree with me. However, please don't be rude about it.
Yeah i agree, i watched the 2d version on Direct Tv VOD and i loved it! I watched it on my 33rd birthday which was June 1st and thought that even with the lesser known director and ok writer's and the smaller budget that they did a good job. Im still hopeful to see the film in it's 3d version whenever they release it on dvd and think that this movie was just plain fun and lost of boobs lol, Are there some spots where they could haved possibly made or shot better ? yes there is, but still i liked the movie for what it was..just plain entertainment. I dont understand all the hate and negative backlash for this movie, i mean i seen much worser films with bigger budgets such as Rob Zombie's H2 which was god awful all the way around. I would like to see if they made another sequel to this movie , which direction the film would take and who they decide on directing as well.If choosing a director wouold haved been my choice i may have considered the directing and writing duo of both Patrick Lussier and writer Todd Farmer, both of them guys would have been a pretty good choice in my opinion.Piranha 3DD deserved better from the Weinstein brothers and Dimension Films! Now let's see what they do with this franchise and give us a better and scarier sequel with a more experienced director and maybe add a horror movie veteran or two to the movie's cast.
Totally agree! Infact, I just wrote a review on this page and rated it a "9". My partner and I had no desire to watch it because of all the negative reviews, but I had such a bad day at work yesterday, and there was nothing on T.V.--so, we decided to give this a try from On Demand, and BOY, are we glad we did! So many intentional laughs, and scares, and jaw-dropping scenes---wonderful popcorn movie, and now I just need to buy the DVD. Now we're as puzzled as the rest of you, wondering why all the bad reviews. Some people are just too picky. For me, this embodied everything I'd want in a fun, campy, gory film. You know you're going to have a good time when the opening set-up scene has Gary Busey in it!! And as far as all the comments about it being "low-budget"--really?? Didn't look like it to me, or my partner---we were pleasantly, pleasantly surprised.
It's 'low-budget' because they reused piranha sequences and death scenes from Piranha. 3D and I don't mean they remade them, I mean they used the original footage... A lot, another reason this film is bad
Huh. I guess that didn't even bother me, I was being too entertained. I don't pick apart movies like that generally, unless I find myself being bored. And I can guarantee you, you will NOT be bored by this film. I stand behind my "Absolutely Brilliant" comment!
I thought it was everything it promised to be, and i loved it as well. I guess maybe some people were expecting the next Godfather or something, but i had been dying to see it and i loved it
So good, we were on the floor when the guy mentioned baby steps to a guy in a wheelchair... and those slow mo homages to baywatch, and te over dramatized bouncing fake boob scenes. Too good.
I wasn't expecting it to be good. It sat on my computer for 3 weeks before I finally got around to watching it. Last night I finally was bored enough to give it a watch and ...
I just got done watching this and all I can say is Gulager hit the mark. I didn't go in expecting great acting or jaw dropping special effects. On the contary I expected mediocre acting and campy effects and that's exactly what I got. There are too many great things to list but a few of my favorite parts were David Hasselhoff's "stupid little ginger" line, the whole premise of the nudity in the water park itself, and the scene with Shelby in the bedroom for its pure goryness. As I watched this it reminded me of cheesy 80s comedy films like Meatballs with all its zany characters. It was good to see Christopher Lloyd again. He chewed up his small cameo nicely as well. All around entertaining film that is perfect when you just wanna turn your brain off for 90 minutes.
David, you got it in one. The first actually had a PLOT, and a lot of action and made it clear kids being in danger is something actually serious. This film barely even bothered with action, as the water park attack scene was extremely short and they ended with the sudden decision that a child dying is a knee-slapper. All to show that yup, it was really just about showing whoring around this time, with some blood spattering and pitiful passes for humor in-between.
It was awesome, I saw it with like five of m closest friends and we were dying at all the jokes and the sheer cheesiness of it all. Awful film when looked as anything but campy horror, otherwise an awesome movie I would watch again.
I found this film to be a good deal of blithely silly and trashy fun. David Hasselhoff was a real hoot sending up his pompous cardboard image something rotten.
