Scott really that big a jerk?

I can't believe he actually would behave like that IRL and keep her as a wife! Has got to be put on for the show, just like his predictable freak outs about cost overruns (no one can be that big a cheapskate) and "we have GOT to get this done by tomorrow!" what kind of flipper would actually schedule an open house before rehab even begins? Too much put-on drama and strife. Impossible to believe Amie or any other woman could stay with a man who treated her like that.

I find it hard to believe any of the contractors would work with him time and again if he were that big of a jerk to them.
How many times have we seen him berate the tile guys? Or the painters? After that job I'd tell him to find someone else to work with.

Also, I hate when he say's "It's good enough for this neighborhood." Or how he comes off looking really cheap on the show...what about potential buyers who see him on the show? Do they think twice and wonder if he's skimping on the house they're looking at that he's flipped?

You can call me 'Mayor Chapstick.'

The trick to flipping is not over-improving the house for the neighborhood it is in. You can't get the money back because it won't appraise any higher than the comps in that area.

If you go back and watch the first couple of episodes from the first season, they all get along very well. Clearly they felt more "drama" was necessary.
