What's wrong with the wife's voice?

It is obvious she had rhinoplasty, was it a bad job that makes her always sound like she has a terrible cold?

and I think she is from Canada

What has that got to do with her voice???

reply

I have no problem with her accent. In my opinion, as an American who watches plenty of Canadian TV, her accent is slight. But the voice is very strange. Maybe it is plastic surgery gone wrong, I don't know. A beautiful woman, but I have never heard a voice like hers.

reply

She's a mouth breather.

Mouth breather as in stupid or as in she cannot breathe through her nose..... I cant breathe through my nose, been like that since birth, and my voice don't sound anything like her voice..

reply

Smoker perhaps?

reply

i know what she "smokes"...

reply

Bones.

Too many and too deep in her throat.

reply

she can smoke my bone any day of the week

What ive been thinking since the first time i saw this show and it does make alot of sense seeing as Scott is gay.

reply

Amy's voice is the result of decades of cigarette smoking. Considering she looks like she's in her 40's, she's probably been smoking cigarettes since her teens. And probably unfiltered.

reply

amie is 46, born in alberta canada, wouldn't she have spoken french as a child, so she has a bit of an accent and she has smoked many years.

reply

Alberta is not the French part of Canada. You're thinking of Quebec, Canada. Unless Amie grew up in a French speaking family, she wouldn't have a French accent being from Alberta.

Assuming all Canadians sound like Pepe Le Pew, is like assuming all Americans sound like Yosemite Sam. (I'm not upset or anything. Just saying. )

i meant that part of my post as a question, but thanks for the correct info, I apologize for the mistake.

I noticed that Scott's wife Amie isn't listed anywhere in the cast & crew on IMDb.

reply

Well, about her design decisions and budget mess-ups, she's always saying, "Scott is going to kill me…"

BTW: grew-up 60 miles from Canadian border. Ever seen "The Great White North," eh? The clipped vowels and sometimes-staccato rhythm of her voice is, indeed, Canadian. And to say, "French-Canadian" does not exclusively mean "Quebec." Being "French-Canadian" will include the Acadians and Matis of Manitoba, Fransascois of Saskatchewan and the Franco-Albertans of -- you guessed it -- Albertan.

Yours truly,
Yosemite Sam (Dag Nabbit -- durn varments!)

I wouldn't be surprised if her nose job affected her voice, if she gets any more work done, it should be to make her nose a bit normal, not smaller. Any less and she'll be edging into MJ territory.

You don't choose the soy sauce, the soy sauce chooses you.

It is very distracting. It sounds like she has smoked for the past 80 years or something.

Alberta is known for cattle farming and things like that. The only other thing to do up there is watch the Oilers and Flames in below zero temps. Yeah, I'll go to watch a hockey game in below zero temps and leave my 70 degree house and drive through 8 feet of snow. Wait! Let me use the metric system for Canadians.
