Horrible Audio Production Values

I'm watching season 1 on Netflix, and it's a good show but I have to have the captions on because the score is so loud the dialog is unintelligible.
Obviously they were in love with their new surround sound tech,which does sound good, but how did nobody in the process of production notice it drowns out the story? Did nobody watch this after post? I'm on episode 3 now and they've all been horrible to watch without captions.
