... the whole story??? If you can, you are really a genius!

I am talking specifically about season 2. There are a few things that I really couldn't understand, such as:

1) after Amos mess with XIII's mind during what he calls "stage 1", "stage 2", ..., when it seems that XII got finally free, we hear a "Stage 5". What is it?

2) when XIII is exploring the cargo ship, he ends up in Shanghai (!). What does it mean, was the ship just an induced dream? If so, why does we "wake up" walking in the apartment where this strange Illuminati meeting is taking place? He should rather wake up tied in one of this special chairs and all hooked up. And then Mr. Barnowsky capture him and hook him up in one of this chairs ... when and how does he get away? Mr. Barnowsky says "put him back in the ship" ... does then he end up in the container where the Chineses find him? If so, all what is following should just not be real, or not?

Please, help. If I can't find an explanation, all the story becomes just BS!

The President had a personality change. Many of the characters are schizophrenic. In Episode 8 Xiii gets hit on head then thinks he killed Xiii.2 / Victor Gong, and then gets on a ship. In Episode 9 he wakes up on the ship, but later walks out of the ship into a simulation theater where pacifist turned psycho comando Betty is also being programmed by her dad. Here Xiii is captured and plugged into dream machine where Betty's Illuminati dad puts his mind back in the ship. From then on it is all a simulation. Also here Xiii.2 breaks in and doesn't kill anyone for some reason but takes Betty out of fake London and is really in Shanghai. She thinks she escaped with him. But given the absurdity of the next 4 episodes, probably she is in the dream machine still. Then 4 episodes happen that could beat be described as left over scenes spliced together, except they have good travel, fight, and action scenes. Then at end Xiii and Xiii.2 are shown in hand to hand combat but shown both hooked up to dream machines, implying that it is all a dream but that there are two 13s.
