Looks like the little interest there was in this is already dead

Well it came to Cannes and was anticipated more for what Gallo would say during the press conference, which he then skipped, thus infuriating the critics and journalists who then retaliated by bashing the flick, and now there haven't been any postings on here about it in nearly a month. Doesn't seem like this will ever see the light of day, but any updates about distribution for at least a DVD release would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Seems to me that he made the right choice... They wanted him to be unexpected and edgy, and he delivered, without even having to say anything upsetting.

That being said, I'm sure it will be distributed at some point... and I hope soon.

I like Vincent Gallo alot as an actor, but as a person he seems to be a bit of a dick. I never met him, but from what I've heard he thinks that his *beep* doesn't stink. I honestly would say he's still mad that The Brown Bunny was a total piece of *beep* because it was.

So what Brown Bunny sucked, get over it, you had Buffalo 66 which was amazing. One great movie, one *beep* movie, you should be proud of it and move on. Promises Written In Water sounds good, and its rated good, so lets get a release for this one alright? I'd like to see it, I'd pay to see it, lets see it already.

Critics are critics because they don't have the talent to be anything else. Look at Roger Ebert...the 3 movies he has under his belt are terrible, yet his criticism can turn a movie into a hit or dud....

Take there *beep* with a grain a salt and put some movies out. Amen.

That's a very idealistic expectation for critical discussion and I admire you for that but sadly films themselves are not the main focus in the slightest in the vast majority of reviews as critics instead vent personal attacks and insults against the filmmaker and in the case of a guy with a personality like Gallo's this is especially pronounced.

I emailed him personally for info on the release and he just wrote back "No, because people are mean". As much a fan I am of his work, I think his behavior is that of a baby. Why would he show it at Cannes? He won't show the film to his eager fans, yet he screens it at a festival that asked for his head after The Brown Bunny. I'm dying to see this...lets hope he knocks this s**t off already.

I still want to see this very badly. I don't care if it sucks or if people will be mean. I just wanna see a new Vincent film!
