Just caught this on Netflix and was pleasantly surprised. Was looking for something without blood, gore, sex, and inappropriate language. Found just what we were looking for with Angel Dog. Somewhat predictable but entertaining none the less.

shareI really found this charming. I only rented it because I wanted to make sure my renewed debit card was working on my streaming rental service, and I got it for 99p.
It's a good, clean family film but executed with a lot less mushiness than, for example, the average Disney movie or anything else animal-oriented I've seen. It's a quiet drama with a lot of low-key charm, and very moving.
The settings in and around San Antonio, Texas are also beautiful, a region I know and love well.
I've just seen this. My thoughts/opinion? I'm trying to help elderly father, 89 WWII Veteran have some quality of life while trying to recover & help disabled brother. I normally flip the remote or pick up a good book, but I watched this movie. So glad I did. Yes, somewhat predictable or hokey as other Message Board Posters & Critics have said. Me? I thought much solid real acting, veterinarian clinic plus 'regular' folk & places real. Oh-I've read how 'too unreal'. I'll share this: my life has had sadness & horror that should be unreal but is real. My life has been saved by dear friends voices on the telephone, the rare kindness of strangers sharing smiles & the way my furry companions love & greet me & that helps me fight for my brother. With all the fear & fight & frustration with medical & housing &+ the furballs love me for me & ... Yes, movie "Disney". Movie also somewhat real & more so, joyful for many of us.
