But winner still only gets $50,000 not a truck.

This season is already disappointing. Only six teams competing, and of the "families," only two teams consist completely of relatives. Furthermore, the entire run will be in California, so we won't get the interesting regional twists of past seasons.

And I get the impression the teams were recruited rather than having applied to be on the show. After all, Vinny was on Jersey Shore and is at least the third alumnus of that show to appear on a Food Network competition. And Tom—whom I love, by the way—has competed twice on Cutthroat Kitchen, so he was already in FN's Rolodex.

Finally, the horrible funnel-cake eating to find the truck keys and the stupid auction for space inside the park just struck me as unnecessary gimmicks that did nothing to enhance the show.

I'd like to be a pessimist, but this is a luxury I cannot afford.—Joseph of Cordoba

This time around it seems like its here just to fill a time slot, not to give someone a chance to showcase their truck or get someone started in the business.

Yea when they went north I was wondering if they were going to stay regional AKA the west coast.

Only 6 trucks struck me also, dont they usually have the final 3 trucks in the finale?
Going to be a short season.

Yeah, they should give them the money AND truck! I guess, all those celebrity cooking shows, are taking a toll on petty cash! I'm sure Patricia Heaton, Tricia Yearwood and that (Wannabe) Pioneer Woman, ain't cheap!
