This season was just indicative of FN's decline

The season was crappy enough as is with only a limited number of teams participating, no road blocks, never leaving Southern California, and the winning team not winning their truck as part of the prize (only done in 2 previous seasons when established food trucks competed and already owned their trucks) but the lead in to Dumb and Dumber's new show throws the whole competition's integrity into question. How convenient that a team that made it to the finale just happened to have a new show starting on Food Network as well. Seems to me no matter how well they really did FN would find a way to rig the results to ensure that they made it to the finale.

Of course Dumb and Dumber's new show is just another "lets go around the country and try different foods" shows that seem to dominate the network these days. Sad that FN has turned into a dumping ground of those touring the country type programs, reality and game shows, and inept hosts/judges like Alex G., Melissa D'Arabian, and Geoffrey Zakarian. Whatever happened to good programming and chefs like Molto Mario, Ming Tsai's East Meets West, Too Hot Tamales, Emeril Live, Essence of Emeril, Cooking Live, Grillin and Chillin, etc.

Not to mention the explosion of Kid's cooking shows: Teen Chopped, Kids' Food Network Star, Kid's Baking Championship, Kids' BBQ Blitz, etc.

It's like FN turned into Nickelodeon overnight. I'm bracing for Kids' Cutthroat Kitchen. We know it's coming.

Couldn't agree with you more!

It's also extremely frustrating they're wasting the skills of any potential talented chefs they have at their disposal on this type of programming.
