CS gas

I remember in Boot Camp which was the first time I got gassed. They make sure you get some exposure no matter how much you try and hold your breath ("sound off recruits!") or close your eyes. After a few seconds of hacking my lungs out I realized the best thing to do is calm down, slow my breathing, and suppress my urge to cough as much as I could. That stuff was only sucking in more of it. Worked pretty well, but the gas chamber is a line in the sand, man. I saw a few of the big "PT stud" types just lose their minds and bolt for the door. One big boy it took three instructors to hold him down. It's funny how the people that break down the worst in Boot Camp are the big athletic types. I think they are always so used to being lauded and successful being "jocks" in high school or whatever that the reality they are just worms in the pile like everyone else now they can't hack that.
