I share your pain on this. As is, im using a number of standard open sub/.srt files. Hopefully Dag gets some DvD's released with professional subtitles (an eta from anyone familiar with Norwegian tv production practices would be much appreciated.)

All DVD releases of "Dag" contains, unfortunately, only Norwegian subtitles.
You could always make a request to the production company (not sure it will help, though); http://www.kamerakameratene.no
A good series such as this should definitely try to reach out to the international marked.
there are unoffical subs that might work. netflix has the rights so they might release with english subs
