Dead Space The Game Is Still Scarier Than The Movies

I gotta hand it to Visceral Games...Dead Space is probably the scariest media I've encountered since I originally seen Hellraiser back when I was young. I really don't scare easy but my heart was racing almost the entire playthrough of Dead Space...I guess playing during the middle of the night with no lights on could have also influenced the effect.

Anyway, I noticed that the movies seemed to lack any of the atmospheric details that Visceral used in the games. I was a little disappointed that none of the art directors from either of the two films collaborated with the original team to help recreate the atmosphere.

By and far if they ever decide to do a live action movie they really need to bring the original artists from Visceral Games onboard. The impeccable 5.1 dolby digital surround sound also helped a lot.

With all of that said...both Dead Space movies were still pretty good. No where near as intense or scary as the games, though.

I don't get why people say it was scary. I didn't find it scary. For me it was just another horror game.
Obvious inspirations from 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien and The Thing.

Um... of course?

"This isn't TV, it's real life. Can't you tell the difference?"
"Sure - I just like TV better."
