something i don't get about the end (spoliers)

so the long haired dude was in on it the whole time? This doesn't make sense because he took an iron to the chest. If you are going to be the one behind causing people pain and whatnot, why the hell wouldn't you stay at bay, maybe watch on a monitor like in "Hunger" or something? Why do painful things to yourself, too? It makes no sense to have that view. "I'm going to get a group of people to be in immense pain! Oh and I think I'll join them."

Stay away and watch it happen, you know? Also, who was the hitchhiker blonde and the chick on the video, and the two at the beginning? The women don't seem like they had anything to do with anything except to lure them in and to explain what's going on. The salt guy at the beginning looked like he was just torturing a guy rather than being on the same team trying to reach the pain threshold.

I was thinking the same thing about the long haired guy. ( Also when he took his shirt off and he had all those scars, I think it was an indication that he had been through this before with other people.)

They need a motivation, someone to convince them, to go with the game.

Exist the possibility they try to find a exit or a hole in the rules. He's there to stop them to do this.

Also he need to be convincent, so he also need take part of the game (What the others will think if someone, the person that convince them in first place, doesn't participate?), but he probably chose stuffs that didn't incapacitade him.

I thought he was in on it the whole time. He was just too eager and too motivating given the situation that they were in.

He said they were his 5th group. He liked the pain, when they ripped his fingernail off he was smiling and laughed.
