Will they return to Earth towards/for the finale?

I mean, to leave everyone else behind and carry on like nothing is kind of lame. I predict that they will return towards the very end, and something ridiculous will happen, but will end with Rigby and Mordecai doing something stupid.

I really hope so before this final season ends.

These "in space" episodes so far of season 8 haven't been horrible. But most of them haven't been really good either and nothing like how the episodes in the previous seasons were, back on earth. So I don't see much potential for the show to survive a 9th season. And I really don't see any purpose in Eileen being with the gang (there hasn't even been one idea of her getting together with Rigby), other than the creators just having favoritism on her.

If anything else, in my view, they really should've also brought Margaret along too. Too me, it would've at least been a little more fun with her being with the gang also.

Season 9? Cartoon Network has already confirmed that season 8 is the final season of Regular Show! I agree though, the episodes in space have been very hit and miss. The only episode I've liked so far has been the spoilers episode (#14), but that would have worked back on Earth as well. The fact that they're not in the park anymore is the worst thing about this new season. Also Eileen is totally being wasted, half the season done and not one episode with her and Rigby.

I meant IF there was to be a season 9. I already know that S8 is the last. But I saw the signs of the show ending when I saw the dome theme show up during season 7. It just told me right there that JG was starting to run out of the cool ideas he had for the earlier episodes and seasons of his show.

I really hope that he'll at least give us a good season 8 finale back on earth. I'm not much into "Rigleen". But I do like Mordaret. And Margaret on her own.

I'm hoping that Mordecai and Margaret might get fully back together by the show's end. And if not or the season finale doesn't happen on earth, well thankfully, that's why fan art and fiction exist so we can keep having fun with our favorite characters through our own imaginations. Especially after the show ends ;)

Overall, the cartoon's already made a pretty good run. So I'm pretty satisfied with how it's gone. I heard that a good deal of fans out there are upset that it's ending or don't want to believe that S8 is the last season. But it'd probably be better to not exploit it, as 8 seasons (6 years) is a lot for a cartoon. I also found it interesting how Mordecai and Rigby mature throughout the seasons.

To me though, the glory days of Regular Show happened from the beginning, until that dome theme special happened in S7.

There have been sparks of brilliance in this latest season but the biggest annoyance is Eileen being totally wasted. If the makers weren't going to bother doing a solo Eileen/Rigby episode then why bring her along? Surely they could just have easily brought Margaret along as well.

I don't think those brilliance sparks have been much based on all of the episodes I've seen so far now on the final season. And from what I saw from the "Meet the Seer" episode (in which I know it's a Matrix reference), it's become a bit debatable to me if we will now get a really good finale back on earth after the Pops/Anti-Pops battle thing. When that final episode of the entire series airs this Saturday.

But I do agree though that Eileen wasn't really necessary to be with the gang in the ongoing final season. But I see that her voice actor Minty Lewis is also a writer on the show. So that would have to also explain why Eileen's on the final season.

But Margaret has been on the cartoon since the beginning on the "Caffeinated Concert Tickets" episode of S1, and actually BEFORE Eileen.

So it's why I was saying they should've brought Margie along too. Some say it was because of the Mordecai romance drama back in season 6. But since 8 is the final season and in space with the entire main RS gang, I don't think that really would've mattered with the fan interest level either way.

But the creator favoritism thing on Eileen I wrote about in my previous posts in this thread still stands. Even if it's because of the voice actor's involvement on the episode writing for her.

I like the space episodes
