Series Finale

So now that it has aired today, this is the thread to post your thoughts on it.

It's a shame that JG himself or his writing partner Sean Szeles didn't write the finale. But I thought it was mostly decent, even though I wasn't expecting to see anything very mind blowing or creative about it as in previous seasons.

Because JG wasn't involved in the writing of the finale, it definitely could've been better for what his cartoon is in my view. But I really didn't like that the other writers messed up Mordecai and Margaret's relationship/friendship at the end. And basically pretending that it never happened or exists. (sigh)

But I knew with Minty Lewis (Eileen's voice) as one of the writers for the finale, they were gonna get Rigby and Eileen together. Just as I had thought...

Oh well. I'll still be watching previous episodes and seasons online for a while to come. But the cartoon did have a very good run altogether.

Loved the way the ending wrapped everything up. Everybody went on to bigger and better things in their own ways. Skips was the only character whose life was more or less unchanged and ended up alone, but he seemed happy with it.

Except Margaret -- what happened to her? She was excited and rushed out to greet Mordecai, then sorta disappeared. Oh well, I suppose everybody can't be accounted for in an episode format like this.

I am satisfied with the series finale, for the most part.

Yeah, I was expecting Mordachai and Margaret to end up together. Why that didn't happen made no sense. She did just disappear after storming off the news broadcast.

It was an overall bitter sweet finale, I did teared up at the death of Pops and the generally happy outcome of everyones life that his sacrafice allowed. Before these finale episodes I spent the last week rewatching the series, so the emotional sentiment was just that much more powerful.. Good show JG, you kept me entertained for 7 fun years!

Margaret was at the scene. Are gave Eileen a hug. A bit weird she didn't get more of a wrap-up, but her and Mordecai weren't together anymore, and I appreciate that loving someone for a period of time doesn't automatically make them the love of your life. In a way, since she wasn't a fundamental part of this season, there wasn't much more closure to give her than they did. At least we got to see her.

Though part of me is hoping it's open ended, as I kinda want her to have a spinoff with the news crew.

I didn't really enjoy pops vs anti-pop (I wonder if that was a Primus reference), but I enjoyed the ending. WAs cool to see little muscle mans running around (since ya know rednecks in trailers have a ton of kids they can't afford...) and everyone else who's changed, minus Skips of course since he's immortal.

I'm just glad it ended that way instead of being canceled. I hope South Park and Simpsons end in the same way, because it's smart to just let long time fans enjoy an ending instead of cutting it off because they want to replace a show for more money. Not really sure what will replace RS though. One of the best cartoons since Bevis and Butthead, WHOOOOOOAAAA.

Thanks JG for the laughs and entertainment. (along with all the voice actors and animators).

I just watched it on On Demand and I wasn't really entertained. Pops dying made sense though and was touching. The rest seemed rushed. Didn't like that Mordecai and Margaret didn't get back together either. That part bothered me the most.
